Infographic week at N49

Infographics are a great way to present information to a broad audience. They help break down complex data sets into easy to interpret graphic charts. They’re colourful, fun, and way more interesting than a boring old spreadsheet. To demonstrate this we will feature a different infographic related to local search, reputation management and the importance of online reviews, each day this week.

N49 Interactive Inc. launches redesigned Bedsplus.ca!

When Adjustable Beds Plus approached N49 looking to modernize their website, we were excited to begin work. The finished product is a contemporary rebuild using modern best practices. It’s a slick and functional website that we’re proud to welcome to the family!


Beds Plus wanted a more contemporary, clean looking site optimized for the modern viewing experience. We accomplished this by widening the page and increasing the font size and colour contrast to create a more visually accessible aesthetic.

They also wanted to replace flash elements with more SEO friendly site structure that would provide control over their content. We accomplished this by creating two custom content management modules: a specials manager and product catalogue.

With this redesign, Adjustable Beds Plus have a competitive advantage over their competition. As the industry evolves so too will their site. With easy to use, intuitive content management systems, they have the power to adapt as quickly as their customers will. We truly enjoyed working on this project and wish them the best of luck in the future!

N49 Interactive Inc. Sells Flights.ca

Over the past decade, n49 Interactive has acquired a large and unique portfolio of generic .ca domain names focused on local search in Canada. We have worked hard to develop our network into a suite of sites that leverage our domains by incorporating social networking and consumer reviews.

Sites like Salons.ca, Dining.ca, Kitchens.ca and others, best illustrate what we do: provide relevant local content around many vertical markets. Unfortunately, we just can’t get around to developing all of the domains we own. In some cases a domain no longer fits into our local model and we make the decision to part ways with it. The funds derived from this process helps us to further develop and enhance the n49 network and it’s features. We are kicking things off with the sale of Flights.ca. While we hate to sell such a great domain, we know that it will be in good hands and will get developed into a great site by it’s new owners.

N49 Donates over $300 to three amazing Canadian charties!

In the spirit of Christmas, N49 has decided to make donations to three amazing Canadian charities this afternoon! As part of our Donation Dollars program, N49 Interactive donates a portion of our revenue to Canadian charities. For every member review we donate one dollar to the charity selected by the user.

On behalf of our N49 Reviewers we are sending a cheque to Easter Seals Canada, Bridges of Hope International and the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

How do donation dollars work?

N49 is proud to partner with over 20 Canadian Charities. For each member review we donate one dollar to a charity selected by that user, up to a maximum of $5000.00. N49 users are doing their part by helping local businesses get feedback, helping consumers find great services, and helping charitable organizations in our communities.

N49 Interactive launches www.westfielddrywall.com!

N49 Interactive is glad to announce the launch of www.westfielddrywall.com!

When you think of renovating your home, drywall might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But drywall is an integral part of any home construction. With 20 years of collective experience, Westfield Drywall wants to revolutionize the way that we look at this product. It’s not simply another part of the build. Drywall creates the homes we live in and quite literally shapes our living experience. It’s with this philosophy that we set forth to create a beautiful custom website.

We worked with Westfield to create a design that showcases the potential of modern drywall construction. The result is a bright, simple and clean website. The home page image, a juxtaposition of raw, unfinished drywall to a sleek, modern interior, defines the character of the company.

We built a project manager to help Westfield document and display their work. The project manager offers complete administrative control over details of their most recent renovations, including photographs. This is a great way to demonstrate the diversity of their work and the potential of cutting edge drywall construction.

We also incorporated their N49.ca reviews directly into their new site. This automatically generates SEO-friendly content that both converts potential clients and boost search engine ranking. With these new features, Westfield Drywall is positioned strongly for future growth and influence in the renovations and construction industry. Welcome to the N49 family!

N49 Interactive launches www.muskokateak.com

N49 Interactive is happy to announce the launch of www.muskokateak.com !

When Muskoka Teak approached N49 their website was outdated and did not provide the functionality they needed. They wanted a site that could manage a growing catalogue and present a more modern, professional aesthetic to their clients. To help them freshen up their online image, we designed a website from the ground up and completed a local SEO package.

Muskoka Teak wanted to capture the rugged beauty of the Muskoka Lakes region that surrounds their facility. The design is image centric, leveraging beautiful and iconic photographs of Northern Ontario in the layout. The use of blue, green, brown and beige creates a clean but outdoorsy feel that shouts “Muskoka”.   The home page images are also fully customizable from the back end, a feature that will keep content fresh and unique.

A major issue with their old site was that they couldn’t display their entire inventory. To help them do this we created custom content management systems. We built a Catalogue Manager that allows them to add, remove, organize and maintain their entire product catalogue in one space. The site also features a wishlist, allowing clients to highlight their favourite pieces for retrieval at a later date. When a user selects an item to be stored in the wishlist, an orange arrow appears in the top right hand corner of the item to remind them as they continue to browse through the product catalogue. They can even print or email their wishlist to friends and family!

Muskoka Teak also participated in a local SEO engagement that will provide valuable inbound links and visibility throughout the local search sphere. We have gone the extra step to create an attractive and functional set of social media tools for them to exploit into the future.
